SOLEFUL SUNDAYS - ALEXANDRE BIRMANWould you really match your shoes with your outfit, especially when dealing with patterns?
Well, here is one instance I thought it was the coolest thing to do.

My dress and shoes had very similar patterns and I couldn’t help but take a fashion risk by pairing both.

Do you think it paid off?
Well I I think it did and I dare say it’s actually possible to pull off the matchy matchy look, without looking like a grandma.

Dress: Peter Pilotto

I love it in Milan but I’m mostly there for work and buying for my store. Oftentimes, I get so caught up with business and showroom meetings and before you know it, it’s time leave.
On this day, I decided to step away from work and take some time to enjoy being in a city I love.

There is nothing wrong in slowing things down and making a deliberate effort to enjoy the moment.

Yes, I was in Milan for work but this time, I made a conscious effort to have some fun, enjoy a good meal and strike a pose. ?

Another look I’ve been loving this month is this exquisite piece from French fashion house ‘Rochas’. I love the aesthetic of the brand as it aims to make simple, understated yet elegant clothing. I paired it with a new favourite of mine, the Nile bracelet bag by Chloé. Be sure to leave a comment if you love this look!

Remember, simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance.

it’s been a fun couple of days out here in New York.

I haven’t been here in a while, and it feels great just visiting friends and eating at my favorite spots.

I arrived a couple of days ago with my mum, who was speaking at a UN event. The event went well, and Mama certainly made me proud.

Getting dress for this formal event was a walk in the park, as my stylist was on ground to help me look the part.

Here’s what we came up with; Hope you like it.

Yippee! It’s my birthday and I’m very excited.

I am especially grateful to God for adding another year to my life. I feel blessed as I am certainly living the best life possible.

I wish I could be back home to celebrate with you all, but I decided to do something different this year.

I am on vacation with some close friends, also celebrating their birthdays in March. We are enjoying some ‘Girl-time’ on an Island at the Dominican Republic and it’s breathtakingly beautiful.

Nonetheless, I can never too busy to thank you for the love and support always. Thank you for all the birthday greetings and well wishes.

Love you guys.

Friday is a great day to switch up an outfit up from ‘Day’ to ‘Night’.

As always you can’t go wrong with the little black dress. A simple and casual black dress is perfect for the switch, as it can work both ways.

For this look, the difference between night and day was just the lipstick. I opted for a nude shade by day, and went for the vampy look by night.

Some days it’s as simple as wearing flats by day and rocking the ‘heels’ by night.

It’s Friday, let the weekend begin.

Bright colours make me happy and this Mini yellow  dress is no exception.

Yellow is a great idea because it looks good on many, if styled appropriately.

People are naturally drawn to bright and vibrant colours, hence it’s a great way to get all the attention without saying a word.

Pairing a bright colour with neutrals is usually the way to go, but who cares?

This time, I went for the bold option, pairing the already bright Yellow, with another bright pop of colour.

I kept it easy on the eyes with minimal jewelry and a bold fuchsia lipstick which I matched with a pair of fuchsia pink pumps.

This weekend I had a wedding to attend, so i opted for a sleeveless dress with a long slit from the Versace Spring 2017 Runway Collection.

I love how the splash of ‘Red’ on the dress, is in sync with my red lipstick. Let me add, that the hint of red on the soles of my shoes was also a perfect combo.

I had a lot going on with the long slit, colour block and the gold streaks on the dress, so I thought to play it down, with black Christian Louboutin shoes and a matching black Prada purse.

I love this look and I was quite happy with the entire outcome.

Let me know what you think.
