I love it in Milan but I’m mostly there for work and buying for my store. Oftentimes, I get so caught up with business and showroom meetings and before you know it, it’s time leave.
On this day, I decided to step away from work and take some time to enjoy being in a city I love.

Yes, I was in Milan for work but this time, I made a conscious effort to have some fun, enjoy a good meal and strike a pose. ?

All mothers can relate to feeling overwhelmed catering to their infants, so much so that it’s easy to forget to take care of yourself too. I decided to share with you a super quick, and most importantly, healthy, smoothie recipe that will give you that energy boost you need through your busy days and nights. It’s excellent for smoothie newbies as spinach has a mild taste and is packed with over 20 different nutrients, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. This recipe is kid friendly too!

A couple of tips to help you get started

  • Follow the 60/40 rule: Starting out, don’t just throw things into the blender – it may taste nasty if you just eyeball your measurements. To save you from wasting your vegetables and fruits, get a measuring cup and follow this simple formula: 60% fruits to 40% leafy greens.
  • Blend in Stages: Blend leafy greens and liquid base together first. Two cups of leafy greens (Spinach, kale etc.) and two cups of a liquid base (This could be water, coconut milk, coconut water or almond milk). Then add three cups of ripe fruits and blend again.
  • Freeze your fruits: An excellent alternative to ice is using frozen fruits in your smoothies. Freeze your favourite fruits like (peeled) bananas, grapes, pineapples, pear, apples or berries.

 

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups spinach
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup mango (frozen)
  • 1 cup pineapple (frozen)
  • 2 bananas (frozen)
  • If you haven’t got any frozen fruits, you can put in a cup of ice

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Tightly pack 2 cups of leafy greens in a measuring cup and then toss into blender.
  2. Add water and blend together until all leafy chunks are gone.
  3. Add mango, pineapple and bananas and blend again until smooth.
  4. Pour into a mason jar (or cute cup of your choice).

Yippee! It’s my birthday and I’m very excited.

I am especially grateful to God for adding another year to my life. I feel blessed as I am certainly living the best life possible.

I wish I could be back home to celebrate with you all, but I decided to do something different this year.

I am on vacation with some close friends, also celebrating their birthdays in March. We are enjoying some ‘Girl-time’ on an Island at the Dominican Republic and it’s breathtakingly beautiful.

Nonetheless, I can never too busy to thank you for the love and support always. Thank you for all the birthday greetings and well wishes.

Home or away, one of my fun spots, is by the pool side. This is because my idea of great relaxation, always involves a good swim .

Swimming to me, is like a full body massage and very calming.  What’s even more soothing, is that drink by the poolside after long swim.

Some of the benefits of swimming include total body workout, engaging the joints, and toning the muscles. Yet it barely feels like excercise, because it’s on my own terms, at my pace and absolutely enjoyable.

What’s more? All you need is a swim suit, plus you don’t need to be a pro to get the work done. No special techniques, and a few laps gives you great results.

The very best thing about swimming, is that the kids love it too, and there is nothing better than hanging out with my babies in the pool.

I just had the most beautiful weekend in Ghana, and it felt really good to be back there after such a long time.

Despite the fact that I had so many events lined up, I manged to catch some me – time and Kempinski hotel made me feel at home.

The hotel is beautiful and I fell in love with the artwork and exotic decor. The service was great, the food was good and it was a very relaxed atmosphere.

The Presidential inauguration, which i attended was a ‘native attire’ themed event. I wore our traditional wrapper and blouse (Iro and Buba), with a modern twist. I love the very detailed fabric, embellished with crystals and pearls.

I was really running late on the day, and its such a tough decision trying to figure out if i should run into the car, or just take some pictures; so kindly excuse my facial expression…LOL.

For the inaugural ball, I decided to go with a bejeweled pink and silver backless gown. Yes! It’s 2017 and I’m starting to take more risks with my outfits, especially since my workouts started paying off. (Wink)

I enjoyed every bit of my stay in Accra Ghana, but it feels great to be back home to my babies.

Cheers to 2017; I’m so glad that we all made it into the new year. 

I’m especially thankful for this platform to share my world with you, and very grateful for the love and support you have shown me.

It’s the time of the year to set goals, make resolutions and most importantly, make things happen.

I personally wish to continue with a healthy lifestyle, and be more consistent my fitness routine. 

2017 is a year of taking more calculated risks, and bold decisions in life, my business, and even ABI KD fashion. Yes! I hope to be more adventurous with my wardrobe and style.

I already have a lot planned that you will be deighted to see, and I can’t wait to unveil some of my new projects.

Christmas is here and I’m as excited as my little Koko. I’ve been getting a tingle from buying presents, but soon as we put up our Christmas tree at home, the holiday vibes came in full swing. 
 

The most beautiful memories are created during this season, so it’s important to make every Christmas, special. 

It’s the season of sharing and caring.The season of fun, love and laughter. 

May this season bring you good tidings and God’s blessings.

If everyday was cheat day, I’d have rice in every single meal. I’m looking forward to the holidays, so I have the perfect excuse to indulge in all my guilty pleasures.

I love the smell of french fries, and I can’t help ordering a double portion every now and then.

Biscuits, pretzles and peanuts are my favourite snacks. Need I say, snack time is fun time?

There is something synonymous about Chicken and the holidays. Come to think of it, a piece of chicken or two never hurt anyone. 

I hope to adopt portion control when possible, but kindly cut me some slack; because everyday isn’t cheat day, except during the holidays. (Wink)

I love my daily workout sessions but sometimes it’s a real struggle getting out of bed. On days like this, I have to psyche myself into getting off my butt, and in order to aid my fitness regime and keep myself motivated,  I ensure that I have the following:

+ My Trainer: Knowing that my trainer is waiting outside is one of the quickest ways to jolt me out of bed. If he’s already here because of me, then I simply have no excuses.

+ Fitness Gear – It’s no news that I love to dress up. Believe it or not, the mere thought of pairing my gear for the day, with the right shoes, is enough reason to make me get up, get dressed, work out and take pictures(of course).

+ Fitness Menu: To avoid the monotony of exercising daily, I have a fitness menu with different activities for separate days. This gives me something new and exciting to look forward to; each day. 

+ Results: This is the very reason I exercise hence, my biggest motivation. The joy of healthy living, clothes that now fit better, and the endless compliments about how great this mum of three looks, makes it all worth my while.

These are the reasons I rarely miss my daily sessions.
